What are the side effects of Keytruda? Any tips for traveling after immuno?

My husband 43 years, diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer spread to L1, L2 and T2 and left hip and right rib! 5 Radiations including 2 SBRT done, and after 4 cycles of cis+gem PET scan performed which shown new progression in C2, so doc, changed plan to Keytruda with 3 weeks interval. We are from Bangladesh, and for best treatment we did everything in Singapore. We have stayed here almost 4 months, and since he has a 3 weeks interval for next immuno we have decided to go back to our country with family and friends. Hopefully he may feel better! What side effects should I be aware of? And is this alright to travel after one immuno?

  1. Hi there Samina, I don't know enough about keytruda to offer any insight. But with regards to travelling, have you spoken to your Husbands health care providers to seek their opinion? They should be willing and able to answer all your questions and concerns as they are the ones who are treating your Husband. Don't be afraid to ring them, challenge them and insist on your questions being answered fully. I do
hope that you are able to travel back
to Bangladesh and wish you and your husband all the best.

    1. Hi there Samina, I have received Keytruda and had little to no side effects. I was able to work and felt relatively good while receiving the drug. The only side effect I experienced was slight fatigue from time to time. As far as travel, I would recommend discussing that with your doctor. I can tell you I did not do any traveling while I was receiving treatment. Safe travels back to Bangladesh and wishing you and husband the best.

      1. Thank you very much.
nothing is working on him, progression not stopping and he is now bed ridden. I am so frustrated and due to excruciating pain morphine consumption increased and he is in delirium....
        pray for us...
