I've been diagnosed with stage 3 bladder cancer with metastasis to lymph nodes. I am currently taking strong chemo. I will soon have to make a decision about which surgical option I want when the bladder is removed. I would like to know what other women chose and if you are now happy with that choice.

 Thank you Sarah. My main interest is which surgery, outside pouch, inside pouch or neo bladder. The surgeon is telling me that the neo bladder is not as sucessful for women.

<inline-mention username="jay60" user-id="2064319"/> - My suggestion is to use the time before you need to make a decision to speak with others and meet with them in person if possible. I have met with literally hundreds of bladder cancer survivors and many of them had an entirely different impression of life without a bladder and a diversion after than they did before meeting with me. It will be invaluable to you to have as much information as possible before decision time including the pros and cons. Meeting with those who have diversions will give you a real world perspective. Why am I not seeing more info on chemo use as BCG is not available to me?

 @CommunityMember182 - BCG is normally used for stage 1 non invasive bladder cancer. I do read of other options due to the continued shortage of this and also that when NBCG does not work there are sometimes other options to try.
