Clinical trial Tecentriq

Has anyone else been affected by the news that Tecentriq is being withdrawn as a bladder cancer immunotherapy treatment?

  1. I have been in the tecentriq trial for 5 months. I’ve been told I will continue in the trial. Doctors seemed to minimize the press release. I am disappointed to say the least. I have two more treatments....it’s a wait and see approach. I was the one who saw the article before my doctors. My future in the trial is unsure.

    1. Hi , I am so sorry that your treatment plan hasn't been addressed with you. How are you doing? The Tecentriq news has been devastating and really leaving most of us with more questions than answers. Please continue sharing information as you receive it. We are trying to keep up with the latest which seems to be case by case basis. - Jada (BladderCancer.net Team member)

  2. Thanks Jada, I see my oncologist tomorrow. We’ll see what is next. Thx for your concerns....I don’t know what to think.

    1. Hi you're welcome. Sending you my love & support. This situation is really frustrating and confusing. How did everything go today? I'm hoping the doctors came with some answers.

      1. Still not much news. They are continuing my trial treatment...I only have one more infusion after today. My oncologist advised it’s on a case by case decision. My trial manager said they were not accepting any new patients for bladder cancer trials using Tecentriq. Results failed to provide proof that it was effective. This certainly puts more stress on me but I’m a pretty positive person so this is just a bump in the road. If I find out any useful info I will advise. I need to be happy that I’m currently cancer free. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
