Diagnosis Experiences

I’ve been dealing with frequent urination for nearly a year. In the past few months that has increased with severe pelvic pain and I was misdiagnosed with two UTIs in a row on two rounds of antibiotics with no improvement. Trace blood was found in the urine at the urgent care. No bacteria was found on the urine cultures, no bacteria found after they sent it away to grow any antibiotic resistant bacteria. I had a CT scan to look for stones, blockages, tumors, etc. in Advanced Urgent Care with no findings other than an insignificant pulmonary nodule. At the Urologist, my RBC was five, so the specimen was sent for further review. Once that is complete, it sounds like a cystoscopy is next. The pelvic pain and need to urinate has continued, the urologist has me bladder training as I wait for the results. I know my conclusive option is to wait for the final results, I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience?

  1. Hi . You don't mention whether you are biologically male or female. If you are biologically female, has your doctor considered other health conditions, like endometriosis? Endometriosis can cause both pelvic pain and frequent urination. Here is an article about some of the related health conditions that might interest you: https://endometriosis.net/living/conditions-connected. Endometrial tissue does not often show on ultrasounds, MRIs or CAT scans. The only definitive way to diagnosis it is through laparoscopy, a type of exploratory surgery. I hope others chime in with their own experiences and that the upcoming tests result in a diagnosis that brings you relief. Please keep us posted if you don't mind.
