Doctor found polyps

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer on May 3rd,2022.
I had surgery on May 10th. Then six rounds of chemo that lasted 12 weeks because I kept getting UTI's. Then second surgery on September 13th. The pathology report showed all clear.
On December 27th I had a follow up checkup and 7 polyps were found. About mm each. I am having surgery to remove them Jan 10th.
Has anyone experienced this before?

  1. hi. Glad your treatment to/date has been successful. I am not medically trained nor do I have personal experience to share unfortunately. Can anyone else chime in hear? Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. @Bomboone1 - I am not medically trained but know that not all polyps are cancerous. I have not had experience with them myself but assume that someone who has will comment with their experiences. What information has your doctor provided regarding these and is he or she concerned? Are you having a TURBT to remove them? I assume that they will be biopsied at that time and hopefully you will have answers soon. Sending hugs and prayers your way. Once you have more information it is much easier to deal with things. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

  2. i am hopeful someone will reply

    1. @Bomboone1 - I just read from another poster that he was just told he has polyps also. I do not know how common this is but I am glad that you are having them removed soon and will have some answers. I know it is difficult to wait to know what is going on. Keep us posted on how thing go. My very best Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

    2. hi. When do you see your medical team next? Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

  3. Did he return in three months also?

    1. @Bomboone1 - I do not know the time frame but know that the polyps will be removed and tested. It appears that you may be in similar treatments at this time and I hope that you both will have good news that the polyps are benign. I am not a medical professional but know that removal and testing are probably the best way to know better what is going on and how to move forward. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. 4. After my initial diagnosis and TURBT in December 2019 I had 2 additional TURBTs over the next 9 months for recurrences. I've been 100% clear since September 2020 and am now on a 12 month checkup schedule. The last time they did the TURBT they followed up with GEZMAR (Gemcitabine ) for 6 weeks. No side effects from this.
