Pathology

I recently got my pathology report which seems to contradict itself.

One bullet point says - noninvasive low-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma…….but then below that it says Muscularis propria present.

My understanding is that one is not into the bladder wall but the later means it has…..any help is appreciated?

  1. hi. Sorry I am not medically trained to provide a full medical explanation. I would ask you medical team to explain the results to you, so you fully understand what is going on. Meantime, someone talks of something similar here. Please remember, every case is different. https://bladdercancer.net/living/blood-urine-chemo-clots Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. - I am not a medical professional but agree that your doctor should discuss these reports with you. I am wondering if you have low grade but other cells are present also. I do know that we can have low and high grade cells at the same time. I would reach out to your doctor for clarification. In my person humble opinion, I feel that path report and any information like this should be presented to the patient directly from the medical provider so that an explanation can be provided at that time. I wish that had been your case and hope that you are able to have a discussion soon, I wish I could have been of more assistance. Keep us updated on things. 1. I’m not a medical expert but I had a similar finding. I think they were just saying that muscle was present in the tissue they examined. They include muscle surrounding the tumor to check for invasiveness.
