Received first pathology report after first turbt. No letter grading at all or is that second turbt?? I’m 1 week post turbt. Mine is High grade. No muscle involvement. I am thinking of not even having a second Turbt and go right for a Cystectomy… the high grade scares me.. a lot of decisions to be made..
Sorry to hear that you have received such a scary diagnosis. I was diagnosed in February with TA high grade. Cystectomy is major surgery that takes months to heal from. Most doctors will initially recommend BCG therapy for non muscle invasive. It is a hard decision and both treatment options have risks and quality of life concerns. At least we are both fortunate to have treatment options. Wishing you a good consultation with your doctor and hopefully a successful treatment plan!
Went to Cleveland clinic….start the BCG TX..THIS MONTH..CYSTOSCOPY IN MAY…A LITTLE NERVOUS SO FAR OUT.AND HOPING BCG WORKS.IF NOT.BLADDER REMOVAL…..HOPEFULLY YOU TOLERATED THE BCG? THANK YOU FOR YOUR INSIGHT! TAKE CARE

Jill, bladdercancer.net team The Cleveland clinic has an excellent reputation so you should be in good hands. I am surprised the Cystoscopy is in May. I have been having scopes about 1.5 months after BCG induction completion. The BCG treatments have been tolerable for me. I finished my first six treatments with almost no side effects. I had recurrence and I am at the end of another six treatments. I have had more symptoms (bleeding, fatigue, painful urination) with the 2nd set of treatments. Symptoms have been mostly the day of treatment and very tolerable. My next scope is January 2nd. Wishing you luck with you treatments!
