Treatment without bladder removal

My mom is 88 and recently diagnosed with invasive bladder tumor. Initial round of chemo went well. Are options available without bladder removal?

  1. hi. The treatment plan very much depends on the individual and they will take account of age and any other health conditions. It also depends on the stage if the cancer. Here is a link you may find useful. It explains the different treatments and at a high level when they would use each of them. Wishing your mum well. Keep in touch and let us know how she gets on. https://bladdercancer.net/treatmenthttps://bladdercancer.net/treatment Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. @CommunityMember571 - Several things are taken into account such as age, physical condition, stage and grade of cancer, general health etc. Has your doctor suggested bladder removal along with the chemo with the chemo first? I do read that this is done with some. I suggest asking the doctor for all treatment options that are available for someone of your mothers age, condition etc. to make sure you both understand that options and what is best for her. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. My best Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
