Weight loss during treatments

I had let myself gain too much weight prior to being diagnosed about 18 months ago. Doc says my tumors are "superficial" but keep returning after 2 rounds of chemo and 2 rounds of BCG. In the last 8-10 months I've lost about 40 pounds without trying. Is cancer known to cause this?

  1. Hi thanks for reaching out. While I do hope our community members respond with their personal experiences, I am sending over an article that I think you may find interesting: https://bladdercancer.net/symptoms/appetite-weight-loss. I hope this is helpful. Jill, bladdercancer.net team

    1. Maybe anxiety / life changes from the treatments/diagnosis? I lost some weight after my diagnosis that I know was from anxiety and having my life turned upside down. It was not as much as you and unfortunately I did gain it back. Probably should mention it to your doctor to see what he/she thinks. Was your cancer low grade or high grade? Wishing you the best!

      1. Thanks for the replies! It was still low grade at my last visit.
