Worried Sick

I went to the doctor for what I thought was a Yeast infection. Doctor found blood in urine & sent me for a bladder & Kidney U.S. Kidney came back clear but the bladdder came back “The urinary bladder is minimally distended with a volume of 8ml & reveals a wall thickness of 6mm” she now wants a CT scan done & has referred me to a urologist. I’m only 25 & terrified if this is cancer

  1. I can relate to being scared when you get news that your life could possibly be turned upside down. I was diagnosed at 48 years old in February and it has been the toughest thing I have been through. The urologist will likely do a cystoscopy where they look in the bladder with a camera. It is unlikely that you have bladder cancer being 25 and female. However, it is very important to do the tests that your doctor recommends to rule it out. Keep in mind that bladder cancer is typically very treatable in the unlikely event that you are diagnosed with it. Was the test that shows wall thickness an ultrasound? Stay strong, wishing you the best!

    1. Yes

      1. Yes it was an Ultrasound. I have an appointment with the Urologist in 4 days but my pcp also set me up for a CT scan as there is still blood in mu urine

      2. I believe your appointment with the urologist is today. Please keep us posted on how you are doing. We are here for you. Jill, bladdercancer.net team

    2. Yes had the appointment today & the CT is for tomorrow, not much more to report until we get the results from the scan as well as the uranalysis from today, I have a follow up appointment next week. Thank you for your kind works 😀

      1. we will be thinking of you! Please keep us posted. Jill, bladdercancer.net team

    3. **UPDATE** CT came back clear except for what we already knew so the urologist is baffled as to why I have bladder wall thickening & blood in urine, I have now done a kidney blood test & have a cystoscopy coming up on Monday, keeping my fingers crossed everything is good.

      1. we are keeping our fingers crossed for you too!! We are here for you. Jill, bladdercancer.net team
