2-3 CM tumor and sessile legions

I am scheduled for a TURBT this coming Friday. They haven't given me much information as to whether they will be removing the tumors or just doing a biopsy.
I live alone but a friend is driving me to/from Univ of Cincinnati Medical Center.
I previously had a liver and kidney transplant (3 years ago). Based upon what I am reading here, my journey ahead seems quite uncertain. I am 72 and beginning to realize that I have had a good life and starting to wonder how far I am willing to go with treatment. Even if they find it is non-invasive, it sounds as though that is only a temporary reprieve. Thanks for any insight.

  1. Hi I hope everything goes really smoothly for you on Friday. I am glad to hear you have someone who will be able to help you. I am sending over an article from one of our members and her experience. I hope this can help you: https://bladdercancer.net/living/my-turbt-experience. Please keep us posted. Jill (Team Member)

    1. My hematuria was not looked into for about 9 years. I finally insisted on further investigation. My last 2 doctors said to me "don't worry about it". My tumors are 7.5x5.5 cm, confirmed with a ct scan, my first. My turbt is for later this month on the 25th. I am 73 and healthy. If I was blind I would never have known about the hematuria. I guess my doctors are blind though. God bless you with your turbt Friday.

    2. JillBrodie, Thanks, I'm optimistic. I am in good health otherwise. I hope they are proactive for what's the best course of action. John

    3. I had the TURBT and they removed 4 tumors, two were less than 1cm, one was 2-3cm and one was 5cm. On "MyChart" there was a letter that said I was diagnosed with non-invasive high grade papillary cancer. The surgeon informed my family that he felt that all were removed. No BCG or chemotherapy were done after tumor removal. I had very significant amounts of blood in the catheter and bag for two days and has to go to the emergency room .. they irrigated the catheter and did a bladder scan. I was sent home and only minimal bleeding until the catheter removal yesterday. I am not scheduled to see the surgeon until Dec 6th. Researching possible treatments via Dr. Google and very nervous. Anyone with similar diagnosis and what treatment was recommended.

      1. I was diagnosed in June with a 6cm tumor in my bladder. I had surgery in July. I had a fair amount of blood in my catheter in the hospital and after I got home, but they were not concerned. After that, I did 8 chemotherapy sessions and 7 weeks of radiation. I am still experiencing side effects and my last radiation was on 10/24. They told me it would fix everything. I only hope they are right.
