BCG treatments, how to know when you have completely expelled all of the BCG

I had BCG treatments 18 years ago and was just diagnosed in Sept. 2022 with cancer again. Tumors were removed and started treatment this morning. Lasted the two-hour wait and urinated. Didn't seem to expel much of anything. I have an enlarged prostate also so it's normally a bit slow going. After another 4 hours, I urinated again. This time I expelled more urine. It's almost 10 pm. and I haven't gone again. My question is how do you know if you have expelled all of the treatment? And what if you don't?

  1. @zatopa48 - I did not choose to have BCG so I cannot respond to this specifically but I am sure others will jump on and help out if possible. I am not a medical professional but would think that as long as you are regularly urinating as before the treatment the BCG should be expelling. I know that making sure you are drinking plenty of water helps with this also and seems to help with the possible pain following treatments. Good luck to you and keep us posted. 1. Thank you

      1. I only had one BCG treatment before bladder removal so I can only speak from that instance. I think they said they put 2 or 300 cc of BCG in your bladder. I'm not sure just how much that is, but I was pretty dry going into it. I didn't drink very much until about 15 minutes before it was time pee. Then I kept drinking a lot after for several hours.

All I could recommend is continue to drink a lot, and if you think you haven't got rid of it all keep cleaning the toilet, and you, as recommended until you think you have.
