Bladder Cancer

My husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He is scheduled on August 8th for a radical cystectomy. He was diagnosed with pT1 . The doctor says he wont do another scraping because their is too many tumors. He also said they were most likely muscle invasive.Has anybody else been diagnosed with pT1 and had radical cystectomy?

  1. Hi. Mine was stage 4 so can't answer your specific question. I am happy to answer any questions about the radical cystectomy surgery itself. I had my bladder removed 4 years ago. Also we have a section on urinary diversion including RC which you may find useful. Others may be assist with your specific question. Wishing you both well. https://bladdercancer.net/living-with-a-urinary-diversion Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. @Lviz - I had T1 high grade bladder cancer and went right to RC/IC. Mine was not muscle invasive so I cannot give info on muscle invasive.
Is he having chemo following the surgery? What diversion is he having? Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
