Hello. I was not told that, but I am a former smoker and I was told that smoking most likely caused my tumor. Mine was 6cm invasive through the muscle and I had it removed. It was found due to my every six month lung screeening in a PET scan.
I have had chemo and radiation after my surgery and so far they do not see anything else in the bladder or lung.
I hope you are doing well and will be completely cured and well.

Smoking can cause bladder cancer more often than it does cause lungs one. Before considering chemo you need to have TURBT, then biopsy will say which way to go further on. In my case, BCG helped and no reoccurrence in 5 years!
