Has anyone been told they may have gotten bladder cancer from second hand smoke?

I am going for a biopsy with possible chemo on Thursday. I never smoked, but my husband of 52 years has smoked all throuhout our marriage and still smokes.

  1. I had a flexible cystoscopy today.

    1. I that had a biopsy on June 26, 2025, and it proved that it was in fact bladder cancer. I completed six weeks of chemo and will have another cystoscopy on October 13, 2025 to see if there is still cancer. I pray that it won't be any.

    2. we are praying for you too. Please keep us posted. Jill (Team Member)

  2. Hello. I was not told that, but I am a former smoker and I was told that smoking most likely caused my tumor. Mine was 6cm invasive through the muscle and I had it removed. It was found due to my every six month lung screeening in a PET scan.
I have had chemo and radiation after my surgery and so far they do not see anything else in the bladder or lung.
I hope you are doing well and will be completely cured and well.

    1. I am happy to hear that it sounds like you had good margins and the tumor was removed. We have to be vigilant as cancer patients but it is always good when the PET scans and the numbers show that the cancer is still in remission! Just remember, you are not alone and if you ever need anything let us know! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    2. I am so happy for you that they don't see anymore cancer. and I pray that it remains this way.

  3. Wishing you strength and calm as you head into your biopsy and possible treatment on Thursday. It’s completely understandable to feel anxious, especially when facing so many unknowns. Please know you’re not alone many of us are walking a similar path and are here to support you. It’s frustrating when health issues arise despite making healthy choices, but your courage in moving forward is what matters most. I hope your medical team offers clear answers and a strong plan. We’re here for you—sending healing thoughts and hoping for the best possible outcome. You’ve got this, one step at a time.

    1. Smoking can cause bladder cancer more often than it does cause lungs one. Before considering chemo you need to have TURBT, then biopsy will say which way to go further on. In my case, BCG helped and no reoccurrence in 5 years!
