the surgeon said my bladder wall was thick when he went in to do a cystoscopy and biopsy so had to shave it. Anyone else had this before.

@CommunityMember13 - I am not familiar with this and am not a medical professional so I cannot answer this with any expertise. I had a cysto years ago and did not have a biopsy at that time. I had 2 TURBTs weeks apart following that for a biopsy and removal of tumors. I wish I could respond to this with information that would be of value to you but I honestly would reach out to your doctor. Was he able to do the biopsy but just a different way? Hope that someone else will respond with more info. My best Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

@CommunityMember13 - I think we are all with you on the lack of some information prior to testing, treatment and surgeries. That definitely is the value of sharing our stories on this site. At least a biopsy was done and you should have more information and know what you are dealing with along with treatment options if necessary. Please keep us posted on how you are doing, We are always here to support you and offer thoughts as well as hugs and prayers. My best. Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

I have just remembered that when my husband had his first cystoscopy and biopsy in April they went into the ureter and took a biopsy of a micro size something that come back negative. So, the last cystoscopy and biopsy in July after his 6 bcg to check to see if the bcg had worked they said they couldn't get to the ureter this time to check to see if it was still the same as it was in April because the bladder wall was thick. So that means the bladder wall wasn't thick before the bcg because they got up the ureter in April. So maybe the BCG has made the bladder wall thick. I hope you can understand what i am trying to say.
With regards

@CommunityMember13 - Hopefully you will have some answers soon. I do not have experience with this as I chose to go right to RC and did not have BCG. Could this possibly be a temporary side effect or something more permanent? I am not a medical professional but hope that you will find out what is the cause soon. Please keep us updated on how things are going. Wishing you both the best and sending prayers you way. Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

Don't hold your breath for an answer as i have multiple scans since March and only seen the consultant once so i don't know where i stand for the top ups in late Oct. I think they will call me in with the results with good news or bad. As for the cancer nurse that gave me my BCG, she is never there when i call. Infact no one answers the phone at the clinic no matter what time you phone. I am 82 my wife is 75. How can they treat people like that. I feel like giving up to be honest.

@CommunityMember13 - I am so sorry to read that you are not receiving the responses and communication that you need. Have you considered finding another doctor who may be recommended in your area and able to see you? I personally feel that having a good team of doctors that you trust and are there when you need them is essential with a disease like this - or honestly with any medical issue. I know that places are short staffed these days but you should be able to reach someone for answers. I understand your frustration with this as I would feel the same way. Keep us posted and I hope that you have some answers soon. I would also share the lack of communication concerns with your medical team.
