Cancer cells in the urine

I have had RA since age 55 and got Bladder Cancer in Feb 2020 .. Just had a stent put in my aorta ( Stomach ) it was ready to bust and have been on the 3 year maintenance program after a couple of Turbt surgery's and BCG treatments ... During my scopes I have every 3 months I have been NED, no cancer but after 6 months I just got the urine report that 20 cancer cells and 5 Chromosomes are being affected ... Which is strange because I just had a CT scan with contrast and NO tumors showed up ..Since this is Friday I did not get to talk with the Doctor yet ...Maybe someone has some knowledge on this ... Feeling great and I live life to it's fullest ...

  1. @communitymembeer717bad - I am not a medically trained but hope that you will have another test to confirm this. As we know, this form of cancer can come back at any time. Hopefully if it is something to be further =investigated your doctor will do that as soon as possible to find out the cause and how to treat it. I have read that CT scans can miss things on occasion and that is the value of having other tests such as blood work and urine screens done also. Hopefully you will be able to speak with your doctor soon. Please keep us posted and know that we are always here for you. My best Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

    1. I will let you know ..Thanks ...With Bladder Cancer I understand it is pretty much a fight for the rest of your life and you are never really safe .. Even at 3-5 years clean it can come back .. I made it 6 months , now at age 66 I was hoping to have a summer without treatments and or any surgery's .

      1. @CommunityMember717bad - It is unfortunate that some people seem to be battling this for a long time. I personally believe that if we were diagnosed earlier this would not be the case. Different stages are treated differently and treatments work for some and not for others. Side effects are not the same. It is a big puzzle with lots of missing pieces clearly. Hope that things go well with your procedures. Keep us posted and my best to you. Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
