Finding out the results of cystoscopy and biopsies

Anyone else have doctor's office call you to make an appointment 3 days later for doctor to call you to tell you whether or not cancer is found after cystoscopy? I know he has to get paid, but days of anxiety can be tough.

Is this a common practice?

Doctor is highly skilled and appreciated, but I wish this was different.

  1. not sure where you are based but I think Globally still quite a backlog from pandemic in some areas. I know personally how long it can seem, even a few days of a wait. Hope you get the information you need once you speak to your doctor. Let us know how you go. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. - I think that is very common these days to be honest. I recall that my results took about a week and that was in 2014. I think we would like to have the answers quickly but test results sometimes take a while. I hope that you have answers very soon, Keep us updated. Sending hugs and good vibes My best Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

      1. Thanks for the comments. It makes sense. As it turned out, appointment for consultation was made on Friday, and after an anxious weekend, the Monday meeting was a relief. No malignancy found. That means first surgery removed cancer, next 3 surgeries had only benign biopsies. Peace of mind for a while longer is the result for me. I hope good news it received by all.

        1. Great news that you are NED and that no further cancer was detected. Keep being vigilant and my best to you for continued good news. Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
