Had bladder cancer surgery 3 years ago. Its back.

I just woke up today on my 66 birthday and I have blood in my urine. 3 years ago they went in and cut out some small tumors in my bladder. I get checked every 6 months. My last check up was in sep. 2022. What have they done for you guys the second time. Thanks

  1. hi. Sorry to hear you are experiencing bleeding again. I am not medically trained and of course the bleeding could very possibly be a reoccurrence, I would speak to your medical team to confirm. Things like a UTI can also cause some bleeding. I don’t have any personal experience of reoccurrence to share but I know many here can chime in with their own experiences. Wishing you well and please let us know how you go. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. @docclub - I suggest having that checked out immediately. It may be nothing but it is always best to confirm and see what may be going on. I suggest making an appointment right away as well as keeping track of what symptoms you are seeing so that you can relay that information accurately. You are smart to keep an eye out for changes. Keep us updated as we are always here to provide support. My best to you and keep the faith. Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

      1. @docclub - How are you doing today? Have you been able to be seen by your doctor to find the cause of this blood? I wish you well and hope that things improve soon for you. Keep us updated. Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

        1. I have a CT scann set up for next week. The funny thing is that after the blood that morning it has been clear for 6 days. The first time before surgery it had blood every day, I hope thats a good sighn. I had been taking ALOT of Advil as my family doctor had told me to do for a shoulder problem. I know thats not good for the Kidneys. Mabie that was the issue. I will know next week. PS..I dont take the Advil anymore!!

          1. @docclub - I hope also that the lack of continuing blood is a good sign. Hoping that your CT scan brings good news. Please keep us posted on things, My best. Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

          2. good luck with the scan. Let us know how you go. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net
