Neobladder Recovery

Almost a month ago I got my neobladder. A week ago, I had the catheter removed. I am getting used to diapers and pads, but had another question. When I get up from a laying or sitting position I need to run to the bathroom. When I get there I urinate a very strong flow. Is this typical? Will this get better at some point? What are the keys in helping it to get better? I feel like I can't go anywhere, as this is sure to happen. Thanks for your advice!

  1. Hi. Sounds liek you are making great progress one month on. Well done! I have a urostomy so don't have any personal experience to share. This article refers to Kegels and describes their use. This may help. Others with neobladders will I am sure add their own personal experience. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. @CommunityMember314 - Happy to hear that things are going so well. I just read @gnick540 also reporting in. I suggest that you reach out to him but I also assume he will chime in with thoughts or suggestions. My best to you!! Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
