has anybody started this new immuno therapy for bladder cancer?
Nadofaragen firadenovec

  1. Hey there . This is a pretty new therapy that was just recently approved by the US FDA - here's our article on nadofaragen, https://bladdercancer.net/treatment/adstiladrin. I can't speak to any personal experience with this, but let's see if anyone else can chime in! Amanda, BladderCancer.net Team Member

    1. I was refractive to the BCG treatments did not work. I had two of them rounds then I went on gecemibine and docetaxol. after I had to have my Right kidney removed from high-grade your renal cell carcinoma.
after that they were still treating my bladder cancer with gecemibine/ docaTaxel
I had two rounds of that..
This my cysto with biopsies showed one spot of carcinoma in suti still .
I start chemo next week mitomycine.. scared of the new drug I asked you about.

      1. @PMCola - I wish you success with Mitomycin. I had it instilled after both of my TURBTS to try to ensure that cancer cells were not lurking. I had no issues with it and hope you are as fortunate. Treatments can be scary but if they work, then it is worth it. Keep us updated on how you are doing. We ae always here to provide support and words of wisdom from our personal experiences. My best to you. Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

    2. thank you. I haven't said much through all of this mostly just talking to my doctors office and the nurse is there after 2 1/2 years. I just wanted to stop for a while and I don't want to give up my bladder if I do not have to.

      1. I can understand wanting to prevent your bladder of possible. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

      2. @MCola - I wish you the best with your treatments. Please reach out when you need our support. I understand you not wanting to give up your bladder for a diversion. It is not an easy choice and I hope that things work out in your favor. My best to you. Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

    3. I am saving my bladder the best way I can , after the pain I suffered from my kidney being removed. I cannot even fathom putting that pain in my body again so I search, and I go back to my chemo and tell my doctor "no , you cannot take the bladder.. it has always been non-invasive has never been in my lymph nodes, and even in my kidney , it did not go past any of the muscle in my kidney...
I ran from my first doctor and went for the 2nd opinion..
The public don't know enough about this bladder cancer. It was horrible, horrible, horrible all the surgeries TURBTS but they are the best diagnosis for a cure

      1. I get that. You have been through a lot. Wishing you well. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.bet

      2. hello there! I just wanted to echo in with a bit of support. I'm sure all the surgeries, uncertainties, and unknowns have been overwhelming to deal with. As a simple caregiver, I was quite overwhelmed myself. I'm sure being the patient in question makes it all the more difficult. Bravo for being so involved in your own research and for advocating for yourself. Please keep us updated as to your progress. Sending the best, Charles (Moderator / BladderCancer.net)
