Polyp

I’m 36 and while having an ovary scan an incidental 5mm polyp was found! I’ve been beside myself with worry and still have another week to wait
For cystoscope!docs have given me diazepam to try help through as I’m a mess! I was told could be benign could be cancer! Was told it was small compared to most found! Have zero
Symptoms. Just feeling so low

  1. @Mariew86 - First of all, take a breath and try not to let your mind go in all different directions. I know that it is difficult as you have only minimal information. The best part is that this was seen on a test now and not maybe missed. It could be any thing so try not to assume cancer. If it should be cancer, please know that many of us have been through that and are doing fine. I am one of them. Wait until you have answers and go from there. Sending prayers your way that you find out good news to share. We are always here to support you so please let us know how things go. 1. firstly, take a moment. A positive it was found during your ovarian scan. It’s hard but please don’t try to second guess the results or next steps. We all, myself included, spend time worrying about things that never became a thing to concern me. Wishing you well for next steps and hoping for the best results. Let us know how you go. 1. @MarieW86 - I understand the need to google everything but know that all that you read may or may not be accurate. Try not to over research this as it will not be the best thing. The very first thing my doctor told me was to stay off the computer and not over research this. It is hard not to do but like restaurant reviews, you find more bad stuff than good. Until you have a diagnosis or something more to work with, there is little benefit in the "maybe" of the internet searches. The best thing you can do it step away until you meet with your doctor. I suggest taking someone with you just to have another person hear what you do and then you have 2 people to ask questions and understand. This could be absolutely nothing to worry about or something that you are fortunate was seen early. Try to think positively as it may be benign and nothing at all. Not everything is cancer. Keep us posted and go take a long bubble bath. My best Linda Urbanski ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

    2. Thank you for your replies! I’ve googled the life out of it and found not much good 🙁 everything points to it being “c” my mind is deffo going over time! Not knowing how to cope with it all very well

      1. I know it’s hard. Please don’t google. You don’t tend to find people sharing I thought it was cancer but in the end it wasn’t. You will find the stories when things don’t work out. Have a look at this. It gives options for support where you will find support for any stage from pre-diagnosis and beyond. I know it’s hard but once you know either way and have a plan if needed for next steps, things will be clearer. https://bladdercancer.net/coping/resources-support-2 Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    3. I just wish I could read a few reassuring stories about polyps 🙁 I’m trying to hold
Hope with the fact that it’s small, and I have no symptoms! But I can’t help worry has it grown!! Could it have doubled in a few weeks! How long it already been there 🙁 I’m so low currently

      1. I had a quick look on our forum but can’t see anything specific I can direct you to. You really must try not to worry. I know it’s hard but it won’t change the results. Perhaps try some meditation or something you enjoy to take your mind of it a little. When will you see your medical team? Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net
