  1. hi. Unfortunately I am not medically trained nor have I had this treatment but many here have and I am sure will comment. Meantime you may find this useful. https://bladdercancer.net/living/expect-bcg-treatment Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. @shashidhar - I am not a medically trained person and cannot provide medical advice. I have not personally had BCG but know that it seems to effect people differently. The variety of side effects seems to vary greatly between patients. I would suggest reaching out to your urologist for more specific answers as he or she would be able to respond better. I do not know if you have a patient portal for easy communication with your medical team, but if you do and they use it regularly, that would be another way to possibly get a response. I hope that you feel better and have answers soon. Sending prayers that your BCG was successful. My best to you. Linda Urbanski ( moderator Bladdercancer.net team member)

      1. thank you, will discuss with my urologist

      2. Hi Shashidhar, thank you for sharing your experiences. My Mom had similar experiences with her BCG treatment. Her bleeding persisted and unfortunately, we ended up advancing to intravesical chemotherapy. We were told Mom had an aggressive form of cancer from the gate, and Mom wanted to do everything she could prior to radical cystectomy. Most unfortunately, we waited too long. I would definitely consider the grading you were initially given, as well as the findings from your upcoming cystoscopy, to plan your next move. If you were told your staging or aggression is high, and you are still bleeding after BCG, my vote would be radical cystectomy. I am not a doctor, just speaking from experience from Mom's disease and suffering. Hoping you do well and that all is resolved with ease and grace!
