RC next week

Having a radical cystectomy with ID on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 (UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh).
Had a biopsy in November 2021; follow up in December- cancer had returned, it was muscle invasive. Had 4 rounds of chemo - not fun at all.

Doctor says 3-5 days in hospital, is this about average?

Wish me well, I'll keep you posted.

  1. wishing you well with the surgery. We are here to support any way we can. I am in the UK when hospital stays can be longer. If it’s robotic which I know many are now in the USA, I think that would be a normal length of stay from what I have read. It certainly doesn’t seem too long as I think you would need that timr as it is major surgery. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net
