Did you feel nauseous after bladder removal surgery?

Anyone have to stay in the hospital for awhile after bladder removal for nausea?

  1. Hi all, I had bladder and prostate removed, 12 hrs in surgery. My pre-cancer health issues made recovery longer. Overall, I had 5 weeks in hospital to recover. My appetite was very low. I had lost 25 kg , 5 inches off the hips. I lost a lot of muscle tone creating issues with my 2 recent hip replacements. My surgery was 7 months ago, and was too ill to have follow up chemo.
Depression was heavy untill recently. I really don't know how soon the cancer will come back, but I know it will.
Im surviving, trying to get through each day as it comes.

    1. Hi , recovery after surgery is tough. How have you been recovering since? Do you have a bag? We know that it can be quite an adjustment at first.

I commend you for sharing about the emotional struggles. They are often overlooked. Depression and anxiety about cancer coming back is something many people here can relate to. I'm sharing a special section of this site that is dedicated to the mental aspects of bladder cancer (https://bladdercancer.net/beyond-body-mental-health/). I hope to stay in touch and hear how things are going for you.
