Recent Turbt Procedure

Had a successful Turbt procedure five days ago. Have been up every three hours with the urge to urinate and, when I do, there is a sensation of not pain but nerve sensation maybe! More annoying than painful. Haven’t called the doctor because I think I may need to give this more time!

  1. Hey ! So happy that the TURBT went successfully! Hmm, it may not seem like much but given how big a procedure a TURBT is i'd recommend calling them and just seeing what they say.

Besides the annoying pee. How else are things going?

    1. no, and all is going better.

  2. @Maewerner - Success is always a word we want to see in any post. I went home with a catheter attached to a leg bag after my TURBTs. Do you have that ? Wishing you continued success and a quick recovery.

    2. Maewerner, I went through TURBT about 3 weeks ago, I do get up every 2-4 hours or so every night. I continue to have minor pain (or discomfort) - my Urologist once told me, when I empty my bladder, at the last stage, bladder wall may rub against each other, with TURBT, it may be still sore, that may cause some pain. But with time it will go away - which was the case in my previous TURBT. Assuming you don't have blood in your urine or blood clot, you are OK. Hang in there, it will get better.

      1. I can sympathize with your situation and hope your stint takes care of the problem. My wife, who died almost 4 years ago, went to M.D. Anderson and we’re quite disappointed they had no new solution to offer for her lung cancer.

      2. @mettur - - sorry you are having such pain with a stent. I am not familiar with a stent personally but certainly hope that you do not need it for much longer and that the pain lessens or something can be done to reduce that for you. Sending a hug and positive vibes your way. Keep us posted. Linda ( moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
