I know that our health carers have our best interests at heart, letting us know the best way to manage our bags to the best advantage. My last visit to the stoma nurse was early December twelve months after my bladder removal and prostate removal this was the last follow up visit unless I have any issues. I was encouraged not to use the tape that seals the back plate of the bag as I should be more confident and not use them. So I tried it only to find after a short while the bag started to leak. I was a little upset as none of us like to be in that place , I felt after living with this for a year I was comfortable not having leaks for quite a while, point being I feel that I was better placed to know what was right for me and what worked. It has been a long time for me being in a not so good place , feeling sorry for myself why me ,I think we have all been there, there is light at the end of the tunnel,I am at a stage of forgetting sometimes I have a bag stuck to me. One thing I will finish with is I have been in hospital with severe dehydration, I had been told to drink plenty of fluids as transit of fluids through your body is a lot quicker without a bladder .
To all of you look forward to the good times
