Out of my mind Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT)

My mother diagnosed non invasive 1-2 cm 1 lesion bladder c
Had ultra sound
Had ct
Got pre op next week
Op end week

Problem I can’t touch anything severely covid phobia and desperate need look after mum ! She currently looking after me
I can’t even leave the house and definitely won’t go near anyone ! I’ve always nursed both my parents after surgery up until pandemic !!!

Concerned

Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT)
1. How many people had turbts discharge same day ?

2. Did anyone manage to have epidural?

3. Did anyone have similar to 1 lesion that was is 1-2 cm non invasive what did the grade turn out to be & prognosis ?

5. How long was your recovery such as cooking moving around the house if day case

6. Did anyone also have a prolapse womb at the time of op ! Did this complicate anything ?

They’ve made out as if it’s day case in out & that’s it no mention of all this catheter and recovery days weeks !!!

Out my mind !

  1. that’s a lot you are going through personally and with your mother. Covid had affected so many of us in so many ways. I am not medically trained nor do I have specific experience to answer many of your questions. However I would say, do you have a sibling or another family member who could take on the more hands on support with your mum and you could perhaps help with the liaison with the medical teams for example? This will give you some more information about the TURBT process.https://bladdercancer.net/diagnosis/turbt-transurethral-resection also if you search in the forum, you will find it ther experiences. Wishing you well. Let us know how you go. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

    1. no my sister no longer here hence my severe anxiety attachment! Just replied to Linda above it said something went wrong sorry Linda struggling to keep up with my emails and everything

    2. hey. We are here to support you when you need us but you never need to feel you need to find the time to reply. I understand. We all do. We have walked different but similar paths. Perhaps you could ask the hospital to connect you to a counselling service to help you talk through your feelings. Take care. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net

  2. Thank you

    1. @Blondie82 - Happy that I could be of help. I know that this is a difficult time but I am sure that your mother knows you are thinking of her all the time and doing your best. Take care and keep us updated please. Hugs. Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)
