  1. "I am doing great! In spite of a pending operation looming in the background. I have a parastoma hernia> this is my 3rd one. As my surgeon said it comes with the territory. The real problem is that it might necessitate moving my stoma from right to left. This opens a whole other can of worms. needless to say that my surgeon my urologist and me don't want to move "Myrtle". We are taking a watch and see, The real question I have is I have never smoked. My parents did. However something I have not seen discussed in this forum or for that matter my urologist; the affects/effect of a drug called "Actos' this drug is used by diabetics to control blood sugar. Very effective drug for diabetes. However, it has been proven to cause bladder cancer. I took it and I have bladder cancer. Just wondering if anyone else has taken it and has BC."

    1. Hi @gsess, I'm delighted to hear you're doing great despite some challenges with your stoma, "Myrtle". It's great your healthcare team has your back. I'm hoping for the best for you. Come back any time (if you'd like) to update us on what happens, we'll be thinking of you.

How interesting that you are the first person to bring up Actos and increased bladder cancer risk. I'd like to get more people's eyes on this topic to see if anyone else with bladder cancer has taken it, too. If you'd be willing to submit a Q&A, we can get this conversation started. Just follow this link (https://bladdercancer.net/q-and-a/) and fill in the boxes then click "Submit". If you'd like assistance, I'd be more than happy to help 😀

Thank you for bringing your personal experiences and conversation to this community! Glad to have you here.

Take care and have a nice weekend,
