Information I wish I had five years ago.

First diagnosis five years ago was when I noticed unusual urine color. My primary set up appointment with an urologist, a not so friendly of a person, I said I need a what ? A cysto stone manipulation. You're gonna to put what where ? Not so fast pal. I understand medical personal do this sort of thing all the time ,but I don't, and being a countryside kind of a hick I'm a bit shy in that tender quarter acre. If I had found this site earlier in my bladder battle, it would have been better for me FR.

  1. I hear you and am so glad you found this site. Real people experiencing bladder cancer at all different levels will provide insight to their experiences. I just happen to be one of those people! I’ve had a couple of surgeries, BCG treatments and small tumors removed during a couple of cystoscopes. In fact my next cystoscopy is Nov. 19th. My Urologist has prescribed a Valium to allow me to relax and handle the procedure better.

  2. Thanks Jeff. Many cistos, and BCG's ago I learned how to deal with any procedures that my Dr's or treatment team prescribed, I really do wish the Dr's would promote this site to new patients.

  3. I am sorry for what you are going through. I did not have many symptoms and they found urine in my blood during a physical. I had a PET scan for my lung issues and they found a mass in my bladder. After that I had surgery to remove a 6cm muscle invasive tumor. Then chemo, radiation. These made me pretty sick. I am still suffering from side effects, especially from the radiation. I have a bladder stone, and one that passed on its own. They are hesitant to put me out because I have COPD. They did not find any cancer at my last cystoscopy, so that was good.

Now, another PET scan yesterday. I am waiting for the results.
