My husband had never been in a hospital. He retired when he was 68. One day, he called me upstairs. He was in the bathroom, and the toilet was full of blood. I immediately called the doctor, and we went to the hospital. He had lots of tests and stayed the night.
Later, he had to go back to the hospital. It was then we were told he had bladder cancer. l will never forget that day. We went to see a doctor, and he told us all about it. He was kept in the hospital for the next few weeks, having scans. On November 19th, which was his birthday, he had a procedure. We saw him in recovery after. The next day, he was talking and after a few days, he was not well. The doctor came to see us in the waiting room he said that my husband was very sick. My son went mad. He said, “My dad walked into this hospital, and you are telling us he won’t be coming home?” My husband died on November 28th. It was the worst time of our lives. We still miss him. It was the biggest shock to his family and friends. I hope they find a cure.
