Can anyone advise me on the above.
I like to walk at least 4miles per day and also fly - fish in the river, so wading on pebbles and undulating ground.
Thanks in anticipation.

@ComminityMember02fb34 - I would suggest that you look at Ostomy Secrets for support clothing - undergarments etc. and Stealthbelt for a support belt. I use a a Nu-hope hernia belt but my stoma is below my waist and so the Stealth might be more bulky for me. The Nu-hope is a stretchy belt with a hole for your bag to go through. I think you may prefer a stealthbelt for the support and they are easily washed. They do not accept insurance the last time I checked but your insurance company may reimburse you if you have a script for some. I know that some due. They run about $100+ and are custom made. Check out their site. Good luck and happy fishing etc!! My best to you Linda Urbanski (moderator, Bladdercancer.net team member)

@CommunityMember02fb34 - Goodness --excuse my typos. It should say that insurance companies do reimburse for stealthbelt at times - worth it to check in to it. Also I think I spelled your profile name incorrectly so please read my other post. I wish we could edit these 😀

hi while the advice would be similar for both, I am just checking if you are referring to a urostomy ( after bladder removal) or an illeostomy after part of your bowel is removed? Either way looking to get a support belt or vest would certainly help. It will be for a Urostomy.

I would add to change your bag the night before your walks to let it settle before your walks. Also carry a spare plastic bottle to empty your urostomy if you walk where there will be no access to restrooms. Laura, Moderator, BladderCancer.net
